Attic Insulation removal in New Orleans is not an easy process and many people ask me how much we charge. When we first go into an attic that has raccoons in it, birds in it, bats, or any other animal we start looking for the damage. Damage can be defined as chewed wires, woodwork, staining and most importantly soiled insulation. Having a company that specializes in this kind of work is important, a typical insulation removal company or those guys that do insulation work simply do NOT do a good job when they clean up the area during removal. I have seen it numerous times. They go in and remove the bulk of the insulation but leave behind enough crap that your attic still stinks and then you still have to pay to have it done right!
There are some good insulation companies here in the New Orleans area, but my experience is that they simply do not do a complete enough clean up - even when they are told exactly why they are there and what they are supposed to do! We vacuum the entire reachable area - we use a vacuum system with HEPA filters. We treat the entire attic with special cleaners that are enzyme-based and we also have a PCO follow up!
We remove the insulation from a typical New Orleans home we try to establish a “safe” zone in which we pass from the attic to the outside so we do not contaminate your home during the process. This might include removing a vent in a gable end and bringing it all out the side wall of the attic!
Animal crap in an attic does not smell good but we wear respirators for a much bigger concern - we do not want to breathe the airborne contaminates in the attic. Fiberglass is the biggest concern followed by things like raccoon roundworm eggs and of course the insane amount of dust the gets generated in the process. We do a good job and we are certain you will be satisfied with our work you will be left with a clean attic and a safe attic, it’s what we do.
Do not go into your attic flipping around the insulation without protection for your lungs!
